Hi all I have a flail mower with the above engine it has been sat for years and I've got it going but it only runs for about twenty minutes then cuts out and won't restart. If I leave for about an hour it will go again I have changed the plug and that has made no difference I've not had chance to check if it's loosing spark or is fuel related and probably won't get chance to look till the weekend was just wondering what people's thoughts were. Thanks

I've got a couple of Robin powered bits of kit and find them to be very reliable motors. The only issues I have had are blocked main jet and a stuck float valve on one with a slide carb.

If it has sat for years as you say, I would look to the fuel system. Strip and clean and go from there.

Did take the carb off and blow it all our before even trying to start it when first got hold of it and drained the old fuel out. I was thinking along the lines of coil breaking down when hot but will have to investigate further when I get chance

Now you've added that bit of crucial info, I would tend to agree it could be the coil
