need regular work

Hello there all. I'm looking for some advice and hopefully you guys can point me in the right direction. I'm pursuing a carrier change to arboriculture from engineering. I've done my chainsaw and chipper tickets and all goes well i'll have my cs38 within a month. this leads me onto the problem there just doesn't seem to be that much regular work around. maybe a sub here and there but not consistent so I can quit my job, at least that's the impression that I get and i'm seriously chomping at the bit to get fully immersed in the business. So here's my question, just how do you guys do it? I mean how do you find continuous work? I'm constantly looking over the employment forum and never find much at all within a realistic traveling distance, my next step is to email every arborist I can find within 50miles a cv but hope someone can just give me a clue here what am I doing wrong.

cheers if anyone can help here.!

by the way own saws, ppe and chipper a small one.
