Garage indoor climbing wall?

Being a fan of rock climbing as well as tree climbing my wife has agreed to let me build an indoor bouldering wall in my garage . As well as you usual climbing holds I shall be mounting some gnarly old rot pocket style holds on there which I will be picking up from time to time from certain jobs. Any body else made one before and could offer any advice/ tips.

No advice i'm afraid. Curious though, does your wife realize that you will soon become bored in the garage and the next phase will be bolting holds all the way to the top of the chimney stack?

Well that's funny you should say that coz I did think that I could buil in a fashion so it starts in the garage and then comes out through the side dot and a funky jump onto the side of the house. But keep that one under your hat!😶

I built one in our loft when we moved in here.

I climbed a lot at the time and the pitch was good for training body tension, static moves etc.

got a mix of the normal climbing wall holds as well as odds and sods made from bits of logs and pockets - make sure you get hold of a mix of lengths of hex head bolts as the holds you make yourself often need a bit more wood behind them to stop them pulling through
