Tree Slices to buy

Hi Everyone,

Just hoping someone can help me please. I'm getting married in May and looking for someone to provided tree slices to act as serving platters.

We have searched around online and in stores but haven't found a cost effective solution as yet. I'm wondering whether anyone knows anyone that might be able to produce around 40 log slices (around 30cm round).

Thanks and here's hoping!

Hi,

I am based in the South West (Bath/Bristol way)

I'm in the Midlands. S. Bham. I've done these for a few weddings. Silver birch is nice and seems to hold together.

You'd have to get them picked up but I'm guessing it's a bit far for you.

There are members on here in that area that might be able to help.

Pretty much all rings will split so collecting shortly before is a good idea. You also need to decide how flat, even and smooth you want them as this is all extra work. I have done several in the past in elm but am too far away to help I'm afraid. As a suggestion I would be looking for a mix of nicer looking timber rings eg oak, cherry, walnut, Elm, apple. Finding someone to supply that may be difficult though
