Almond tree

Is it possible to tell whether an almond tree is sweet or bitter almond just by looking at the tree or the fruits on it?I've searched online & there doesn't seem to be anything specific.

There are a couple of trees in an avenue that I pass regularly.

I've harvested a few & roasted them (which apparently reduces the toxin level if they're bitter)

but still don't know which variety they are. They don't taste sweet or bitter!
