Hi John you could try the British Hen welfare trust they rehome thousands of ex battery hens tel no 01884 860084 south molton devon just off the m5 j27 and up the north devon link road about 8 miles from motorway junction.

We've just got 6 from our local BHWT collection. 4 are laying now. They're doing a great job with the slugs! In 2 days they had their instincts sorted and were going away at night.
