£950 Cambridgeshire and I was told by the lady that I spoke with that they will only do it via dealing with registered traffic management companies so that pushed the cost of the closure that i was looking into to £2600+vat.

In Berkshire its £2000, £1500 in Oxfordshire for the section 50 for a road closure they say it's because they have to advertise it for 3 consecutive weeks in local press but a lot cheaper if it's for emergency tree work that can't wait.

You still need to have relevant traffic management tickets to get the section 50 yourself.

Problem seems to be that if your a big utility company doing a major job the cost is not that great in comparison to the total cost of the works but for tree works it can be sometimes be more than the cost of the job.

But that's just the way it is.

On a tight budget stir up protesters at either end . Preferably not tree huggers in this case.

Maybe put up fake planning applications for a waste incinerator or Wind farm. With invitations to come and air your views on site.

I'm sure alot of farmers and such just Drop em quick and shove to roadside. With the proviso it had dropped we are just clearing it. Then take time to sort it.
