Several years ago in a town near here some Council workers were sent out to plant Daff bulbs on roundabouts on busy roads.

In the spring the flowers came up spelling WA*K*RS.

Sorry for the derail.

 

 

Was there not a similar tale of German POWs planting a load of bulbs in a grassed area whereby the flowering display was in the form of a swastika?!

There was a pine plantation with a stand of larch planted in a swastika shape so you may be thinking of that.

 

I know its true as they had pictures in the sun they did.
