block and strop

my dmm block is 3 ton each side so the pin is 6 ton swl so for me to come even close to using the block to its potential i would need a 60 ton strop to attach the block to the tree !

think thats your wll not swl

but yes they are strong:thumbup:

slings are 7-1 and 3 ton sling basketed would be 6 ton

so sorted if thats the way you want to go.

but your anchor would be the biggest issue as already stated

ok mate just checked it was wll so what would the swl be ? and the 3 tonne strop does that not need to be divided by 10 to get a swl ?

i wouldn't have to worry about the anchor if I'm chogging a 4-5 ft wide oak lol

So did you doubt me:thumbup1:

strops are usually sold as SWL and generally 7-1 from mbs.

but been realistic what rope are you using and that will be the deciding factor

just found out swl is wll they changed it over the last 3 years 20mm double estelon good strong rope .so i could lower a tonne

I don't think there is anything in our line of work that j would like to lower 1 ton with. Bearing in mind the rope should be the weakest link!

 

1M free fall would create an horrendous shock load!
