i used to love skateboarding. the kids dont know how good they've got it these days with half pipes on every other park....we never had nothing when we were kids. both me and my mate had a 3ft street ramp each that our dads made us. we once managed to scavenge a manky piece of 8x4 from a building site and walked best part of a mile back to our house with it, stuck it between our 2 3ft high ramps(which were about the same width), that was the closest i ever got to a half pipe. deprived or what?!

Those were the days Steve, we drove back from a builders yard with 4 bits of 8x4 ply on the roof of my dads Capri, no roof rack or ropes! just holding on to it, we then made a wicked ramp. Those were the days Eh, before responsability.

I was sort of semi-pro. Had 3 sponsorshio deal and travelled the country doing competitions. 3 main sections in DVD's and 2 front cover and interviews in magazines. I have signed autographs for the kids. All this before my 20th birthday.

We used to pla ice hockey round the factory units where the steel works were, so all over the Tarmac were metal shavins from drilling etc it used to hurt when you hit the deck. I have a mate now who is still into everything he's been buying loads of foam from eBay so he can make a jump pit for when he's on the bmx
