Recommend and angle grinder

My 4 1/2" Dewalt died yesterday and need a good replacement.

 

Any thoughts

I bought a Bosch one about 3 years back , it's had loads of use and is still going great .

I've got a very old bosch 4 1/2 inch one and a 10 yr old makita 9 inch one, both decent bits of kit.

Buy the best you can afford unless its only for occasional use. Middle of the road or budget will disappoint.

Bought a screw fix own brand one couple months back . 30 quid I think ( I'm cheap like that 😊) it's ok but should of put more to towards a makita

Hitachi from Cromwell at estover £40 odd, can't fault it.

 

I bought a wee genny to power, as it was a third of the price of a decent cordless grinder and I already had a mains one. Job done.

 

Bosch Professional otherwise. Not the domestic range.

Yes was looking at better quality machines. Burnt out a cheapy on it's second outing but bit disappointed with the Dewalt as have had lots of their kit and it's been fine but the grinder has not had a tough life and only halfway through it's first set of brushes

 

Several mentions of Bosch on here so will go see what Toolstation and Screwfix have available.

Hilti tools have always served me well

Bosch all the way not too dear either. Had 4 1/2" for 15+ years but now use a 5" grinder so i get the full use of my 9" grinding and cutting discs.

Metabo and Bosch cannot fault either and back up is good which cannot be said for de Walt or makita,
