CS100 belt tensioning

Hi Y'all!

 

Can anyone tell me how to correctly tension my CS100 belts?

 

The manual gives a torque/force figure (in Newtons) but I'm not sure how to measure this. Is there a special tool that measures the tightness of the belt (by deflection?).

 

Don't want them to slip and neither do I want to screw up the bearings by having them too tight...

yes ,got one myself,just look at nut placing before undoing...can use that till belts are to worn:thumbup:

Dayco do a Krikit gauge if you want to spend £30 ish Krikit? V-Belt Tension Gauge | Gates Corporation BSL or any decent belt supplier should be able to get one for you.

I tend to tighten them until with reasonable pressure with one finger, the belt can be pushed inwards to a depth of around 5mm or the depth of the other belt.
