Ask Mr Google. You should be able to get stock for cherry and crab apples, fruit rootstock is available from the national fruit collection at Brogdale. Subjects like Wisteria, Hamamellis, Willow, Rhododendron will be difficult. I imagine stock for Picea, Thuya could be grown from seed.

I worked for a while in Boskoop, Holland and grafted. I am rusty now on the subject but lots of UK nurseries then would buy stock already grafted direct from Holland. Some of the nurseries over there specialised in rootstock production and still do, but mainly fruit and cherry. Some UK nurseries do that stock.

From what I see in garden centres a lot of trees are still from abroad or bought from there and grown another year by UK nurseries. If you plan to do grafting you could get seed and grow your own stock, you will then have the issue of getting your own scion wood.

Unless you are skilled and have nursery land it can be a massive waste of time and money that is why nurseries and centres prefer to buy in.
