Vermeer sc252 what teeth?

Im wondering what teeth people use on their 252's?

 

Just std on mine at the moment.

 

Im considering just changing the wheel to a multi tip...

 

But wondered if you can get different pockets and teeth to fit the std wheel?

vermeer do a cutter same as green teth, prob same thing ,have a look @ them

think they are the yellowjackets on the 252...dead easy to turn or replace.

I ve got the yellow jackets on mine think they work great pretty cost effective. Have thought about the mutli tip as I have them on my predator to keep things simple but decided not to.

I switched to Multi-Tip on my 252 and my predator 350 and overall am really happy with it, really aggressive cut.

 

pros:

 

-it really cuts faster

-cuts smooth

-less drag in the chips

-seems easier to the drive strain

-you can change teeth really quick on the site, no comparison with hammering the old style teeth with an impact wrench to 200Nm

-maybe a bit cheaper on the long run

 

negative:

-carbide seems too soft, this is annoying

-you got to take care, that both leader teeth are installed exactly with the same depth in the wheel, if not, one tooth wears faster and the cut is not as smooth anymore.

A torque wrench with the same torque on each tooth will not solve this, I have to switch between different keeper blocks and use different torque on each tooth change, usually it varys within 1mm

-wheel shows wear after a few 100 hrs

 

Overall the pros made it for me, would pick it again, go for it!

I have multi tip on the small grinder so thats why i thought to just get a multi wheel

I like multi tip as well cost effective and v easy to maintain.

I'm running Greenteeth on my rg 1631 and i highly recommend them. They cut great, last long and is very easy to turn or change, and you should be able to bolt them right on your 252.
