I am looking at buying a petrol woodline 10t bull splitter and I know that they used to have 9hp honda engine and fuelwood now say that they come with an 8hp Kohler one instead - not being all that familiar with either engines (am used to stihl or husky 2strokes) I am wondering what the difference is other than the 1hp? any ideas performance, parts etc..................answers on a postcard to....
either or both bloody good engines!! though saying that I only have experience with Honda's up to 13hp and Kholers over 20hp, I'd lean towards Honda....
i know hondas are bombproof, but i would say kohler are still a very very good engine and it is a close one but purely down to experience i'd say honda as they have proved themself. i bet i sound like an old man saying that lol im only 17
Last year Kohler were bought out by Lombardini .Well thats what Ive been told . Hancoxs in Birmingham , last time I spoke to them said that spares for Kohler were getting harder to obtain , and they are the Midlands main agents for Kohler .
I have a 24hp honda on my chipper and reckon its gonna go forever. Wish I could say the same for my log splitter engine, an eight of a horse power v twin upper body engine with an axe at the end of it, starting to show signs of giving up.........Honda all the way for me, unbeatable.
