Fallen Oak near phone line

Are BT or who ever is in charge of the phone lines likely to do anything about this tree (for free?). The top ends caught up in other trees. That's the only thing stopping it rolling over and going through the phone line. You should be able to make the phone line out in the pictures.

Really bad place for it to happen. No access for a tractor and winch to get near it. Not sure what they'd do.

BT don't do tree work. You may tell them that a tree is about to bring the line down and will they come and deal with the line. Impress on them the urgency and they may respond. Most of the time they'll come and put a line back up for free, where the householder calls it in. If you're a business they will charge.

I doubt it; the line will snap and they'll charge the recipient to re-install.

I'm speaking from my own experience of course, BT and I are not happy bed fellows, so I am extremely biased in my opinions.

I hope they prove me wrong......

According to the bloke who came to fix ours everything up to the junction box in the house is theirs and they pay, inside the house is yours and you pay. We are on Talk Talk but BT contractor still maintain the lines.

It would appear that my experiences with BT have been contrary to the normal practice, don't I feel special.....:001_tongue:
