No stress timberwolf 150

I have a timberwolf 150 2002 and the no stress isn't kicking in. Checked the belts and they are all at the right tension, is there a way to check the sender unit? Also having fun and games recently when I start it, soon as I release the key it cuts out, I have to kick the starter back in to fire it back up, 2 or 3 times then it finally runs. Any thoughts?
