Thanks Paul is this what I would need to do a survey at a private school and big estates local to me?

Consultancy is similar to Contracting - 5 years experience and you start to become usefull to someone.

Surveying is surveying, its irrelevant who you are doing it for because (in the eyes of your insurer) your their exposure is the same no matter what.

Yes, but as others have indicated you also need appropriate professional indemnity insurance.

 

The course is quite testing and, ideally it would be under-pinned by a level 3 arb qual...plus experience too but everyone has to start somewhere.

I've been in the game a long time, but I don't have a level 3 arb qual would it still be learnable without this?

May need to do some pre-course study/reading...covering trees and law, tree physiology, trees and biomechanics, trees and energy systems, fungi and trees and tree inspection techniques.
