Hi guys I'm looking to get a new log splitter I mostly do rings nowerdays I like the look of the porsch splitmaster 9 but I'm not sure that 9 ton will be enough to split rings 6 ways a 20 ton would be to big I only need a short stroke of ram also prefer if it had a petrol engine rather than be pto of hydraulics. Anyways does anyone have any recommendations?

A small horizontal will be tricky to operate on 100cm diameter rings. Vertical with waist high table ideal. With a 4 way slide-on head for smaller stuff. Also much easier to centre rings on a vertical setup, and more forgiving on wobbly bendy pieces.

A road tow Thor/posch vertical would be ideal, but big dosh - but alternatively you could opt for a power pack generator and an agri spec splitter.
