Stihl 038av trigger

Whilst working on a friend 038av, I accidentally broke the trigger & I am having great difficulty finding one. I don't think Stihl stock them now as it is an old saw & I'm hoping someone has one on a shelf or on an old scrapped saw that I could purchase .

Thank in advance

Pete

Hi there. Are you in the UK? If so lsengineers.co.uk sell Stihl 038 triggers for £2.25 + VAT plus about £3 + VAT for p&p. I bought one myself a couple of months ago. It arrived 4 days after ordering. The part number is 1118 182 1006 which seems odd because most of the parts on my Stihl 038 start 1119. But the number matches the one on your broken trigger and I have checked it against my parts list. If you are not in the UK then I do not know if a L&S will post it to you. Hope that helps.

Hi Pete. Did you get sorted? I have just found the broken trigger that I replaced in my scrap bin. If you are in the UK I could post it to you and you could try it out. I have spent a fair bit if time examining the photo of your broken trigger. I agree it has an extra spur at the top of the trigger, but I am not sure that it actually does anything. Anyway feel free to call me 01925 756723 or email me [email protected] and I'll put this trigger in the post for you.

Cheers

Andy
