I was watching a honey bee today climbing up the window and thought it was the first one I've seen this year so I decided to have a closer look and realised it was on the inside of the window. I caught it in a jar and sent it on it's way as it was nice and sunny outside.

I love bees, but not when you discover a nest at face level at 12" distance. They were our native black bees as well.

You can get up close without them becoming aggressive but they do have a downer if you are wearing black or of you have been working hard and therefore have a work odour.

Don't think I fancy coming face to face with the entrance of my hive without protection though Gardenmac. Although, I'm fairly happy walking in to the apiary without suiting up, just so long as I'm not tampering with a hive.

Definitely agree with you on Wasps Ferguson.
