Hello,

I have been looking at chippers was originally after a timber wolf but not wanting to jump in the deep end with the expense of the hydraulic chippers and didn't want a finance plan so would rather get something smaller to start like the Jo Beau M300.

Anyone know of any for sale ex-demo, used or new depending on price?

It looks good from the videos?

Thanks

James

Hi, I have a JoBeau M300. I think it's superb for what it is, and what it will handle with a little patience. I don't think I'd ever be without it nowadays, the access to awkward jobs is easy and straightforward. Price wise, not cheap. For the same kind of money, you could get a small tow behind chipper such as Timberwolf. Also recommend you take a look at the Greenmech CS little chippers. And have a read through the wee chipper thread.

Love my M300 but have little to add to the above: read the Wee Chipper thread. A big issue for me is the low weight; it's ~45kg lighter than the Greenmech CS100; 45kg that would kill the CS100 for my way of working.

I'm not knocking the Greenmech - a machine that I guess outsells the Jo Beau and performs at least as well (esp. the 18hp one) - it's just that the weight would be an issue for me.

The JB's a fine machine.

Used to have a JB M500; the self propelled one (again see "wee chipper club" thread). Brilliant in their niche; chip throw suffers if blunt and anvil gap critical.

Also consider the GTM and TP 100 as per

A T Osbourne for TP

Thank you for your help and advice! Yes I think the extra weight of the greenmech would provide issues on some of my jobs! I had my mind set on a timber wolf but I really like what I have seen from the JB M300! At the moment having no chipper at all It looks like a good starting step! I will have a look into GMT and tp100 thanks! And will have a good read on the wee chipper thread
