Roof insulation?

Does anyone know where the best place to go to get some roof insulation?

 

I've heard there is a recycled product thats cheap and good?

 

Need to do all roof area! Roughly 7 x 15 metres to do

Bit of a wind up but sometimes you see skips with a few brand new rolls chucked in.

some are made from wool waste, hemp is expensive. Others could be recycled carrier bags or plastic waste. Thats of top of my head.

Do you mean loft insulation? If so I believe there is some stuff made from sheeps wool that supposed to be good.

 

If it is roof insulation you need there is some spray on stuff, but it not cheap.

I bought some rolls of Knauf Earthwool from gumtree. They retail at £25 ish, but you can get them on offer at the big DIY sheds.

 

This guy was selling them at £12 a roll.

 

Must admit I did actually find a complete roll in a skip at work!!

If you can get signed up for a tradepoint card at B&Q (when they asked if I was in the trade, I said I workd with wood and that was enough for them) and the discounts on most stuff are really pretty good then.

 

PRobably worth a look in there purely for convenience if nowt else,

Don't get spray on stuff. You can't change tiles with the spray stuff if you get a leak it can mean a new roof.

The government used to subsidise it u could get 3 rolls for £15 when the grants stopped they went to £45 not sure if the grants are back or coming back may be worth doing some research before u buy. The money came from the energy compAnies that's why they used to sent energy bulbs in the post nobody wanted.

Try British Gas, they provide a free service after a survey. Got ours for nothing.
