Chaps

Does anyone know whether chainsaw chaps for ground work are legal/ ethical/whatever. Sometimes when doing occasional machine work it's nice to be able to pull a pair on over your work trousers rather than wearing cs trousers all day or finding somewhere to disrobe.

Thinking SUMMER Ha..

chaps have the same ratings as trousers, and, in a lot of cases are more sutible for the job in hand, I wear them when Im working with the logosol mill because they are easy to zip on and off when not sawing, the plus side being you dont "cook" when handling the stock timber and boards

I did my CS units in chaps! Perfectly legal!

Still have them, don't wear them anymore myself, I wear type A's for everything and have done since the second I finished my last assessment, but I do lend them to any assistants who don't have their own. The biggest shortcoming is they catch on things. So they're a real pain for breakng down a crown, but for cutting firewood they're OK.

And I don't worry about finding somewhere to change, just crack on!

Cheers fellas- Chaps and shorts the order of the summer then- fingers crossed.

I don't like them myself but Pete does. We're going to do a chainsaw test on his old ones with ketchup sachets /leg of pork for dramatic effect. Will video and post if it turns out good.

By 'turns out good' do you mean they work as intended and stop the saw, or we get to see the pork and ketchup get minced?
