Finally paid a visit to the Tortworth Chestnut today. What an incredible tree it is. Believed to be over 800 years old it now sits as an old mother to her surrounding offspring.

More great trees nearby but also the not very well known Tortworth Arboretum. A fine day.

Great to see them out of leaf, such a fine collection of impressive trees..

 

Is that silver leaf lime behind the church?

 

If so. I hadn't realised it had so much mistletoe in it !

No. The light was crap today, didn't really get a good shot of the Silver Leaf Lime. It's there to the right of the house. What an impressive tree though eh? The Lime with all the Mistletoe is the one on the green in front of the church.

 

Such a lovely place. I could have stomped around some of those surrounding fields for hours if I could. A very special landscape for old trees.:thumbup:
