Recommend a Brush cutter

I'm looking for a one size fits all, bullet proof, brushcutter/strimmer, must be able to handle long matted grass and edging fine lawns.....I'm looking for the impossible I know.

Got about £450 to spend....I'm not a slave to any brand, anything is fine as long as its value for money.

Any specific recommendations in that price bracket?

I'd look at the echo srm range, I'm running the srm 520s and they are very good brush cutters got some of the older 510s too and they are good too but prefer the 520s. I've also used a stihl 460 feels nice to handle but not as much power or torque as a echo strimmer. The 520 is out of your price range at 650 but well worth the extra 200, the oldest echo I have is 2011 and out everyday working and it's now only just cost me money with needing a new shaft not bad for 5 years of hard graft.

I have a tanaka tbc multi tool and a tbc one piece strimmer, great for lawn work but never tried a bush cutter head on them, for heavy work I have a couple of older Kawasaki Th43's, great machines and you can still buy a complete powerhead plastics and all for £100 brand new!

At your budget id get 2 second hand echos an srm 5000 and a srm 220. These are the 2 I run.

I'm in the market for new machines too. Been running Stihl 410's. Lovely to use new but don't seem to last (fairly heavy clearance works to be fair). Seem to fail on captive screw that holds the handle to AV bit of shaft and cost £60 to replace!! I was looking at husky but echo might be a good shout. I always run stihl so we can put on shredder blades but if I can find one that fits I may well change.
