Seasoning milled slabs

Hallo

Just got my Alaskan and have milled up a few slabs.. And I am wondering how you guys season your slabs for indoor or outdoor use,

So got a few questions:

Do you use moisture reading to gauge when ready to work with ?

I've heard slabs will be ready to work with in 6-12 months ?

Pva glue the ends so slabs don't crack?

Oil it so it doesn't crack ?

I understand they need to be stored in a dry cool area with a little wind and no sunlight too and the slabs need spacers ..

I'll probably think of more questions after I post this..

Thanks

Arran

it can often depend on the timbers being milled as there are woods that dry very well and don't really need sealing for the drying process.

there are some timbers on the other hand that will always need sealing and these are usually the harder of the hardwood species.

what are you cutting up?
