Old Ropes!

What do you do with your old climbing/lowering ropes? Been using my climbing rope for a few years now, showing signs of wear, so time to stop climbing with it and get another, but what to do with the old one?

has it failed yet ????? didnt think so . keep climbing !!!! only joaking mate , i tend to use my old climbing ropes for light lowering and tow ropes etc but make sure they are marked NOT FOR CLIMBING . failing that maybe give them to a local Zoo for them to use in the enclosures ??? just an idea

Towing ropes, tieing down ropes, light lowering, light pulling lines, if you have enough they make a good "bounce" for dropping stuff on. I always keep mine, never know when they might come in handy.

Mine get relegated to rope of shame status, i'e drag lines pull lines and general abuse lines, all in the right siuation!!!

You could use it to tie the front door handles of two opposing houses together , knock on their doors really loud and sit back and watch them try to open their doors.

 

Better still, tie two cars tow bars together when they are parked up in Tescos and see how far the get before they realise they are towing a car..
