Basic tree survey work wanted in the north east

Dear Sirs, I completed my Level 3 Extended Diploma last summer. Since then I have been doing voluntary work with tree officers at two local councils. I have tried to find work experience with private consultancies, but I am not having much joy. It has been suggested to me that I should try to make my own way as a self-employed tree surveyor/inspector. I have done the Lantra Basic Tree inspection course and am working towards doing the PTI.

I would like to build a portfolio of work, but need to start somewhere. I have never worked for myself before. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Please PM if you can help.
