BT Line & Tree Dismantle

Folks - Quoting for a job with a part dead Ash, full dismantle, about 40ft, heavy decay & fungus very evident, leading to MEWP access only.

2 BT lines thru' canopy that are going to take hits - don't care how careful, it's going to happen.

Ideally - "hello BT, It's LGS Tree Surgery & can we get the line temporarily removed, (as the tree is going to do it sometime by itself anyway) whilst we carry out work"?

Reality - How much to do something like this, despite as a proactive request?

Thanks in anticipation.

Surely if you utilise the correct mewp you should be able to get round them no problems? It's going to cost you the same/more to have them taken down and put back up than to break them!

Or you could get in the cherry picker and disconnect the phone lines then reconnect them when you've finnised. Not that I would condone such behaviour mind.

If it's a single line going to a house it's really straight forward to take the wires out of the box. Sometimes there's a big loop pinned up somewhere and you can get enough slack to pull it out of the way. If it's a main line with hundreds of wires be very very careful although the are surprisingly robust.
