Painting and fixing

In preparaton for painting, took the cab off the mog today, took the mirrors and accessories off the day before. Will be grinding off Rust and rust proofing the rusty bits over the next little while.

Sadly the compressor wouldn't charge the tanks to get the brakes off,so I tried to pull it with the Tractor, then the Chev and now have decided to reconnect the heater hose's and power up the airtanks with the engine.Have to plug some other hose's but it will work.

Tried that mate, can't get enough pressure for the regulator to dump into the second and third tank.

I know what you mean! I have photographed and coded all the air unions,as well as numbering and photograhing the wiring loom. Its not that complex, but all the hoses are the same colour.

You need to go out and get yourself a proper compressor instead of going round like stig of the dump and picking them up from scrap yards

Maybe if I got a smoky old straight six engine and timed it to run on four pots, then I could weld pipes to an old water heater and make my own compressor!

Propper job!

Can't do that, your welding isn't good enough to be air tight

Re: Painting and fixing

Got it into the shed today.Run it up to get the brakes off and towed it into the shed with the tracked chipper. There is really only surface rust here and there.Taking the cab to the painters tomorrow and removing the X frame.
