I'm sure years ago machine mart used to sell both macs and partners, and they were near identicle to look at.

Years ago MM used to sell Dynamac saws, that's where I got mine. They were grey and yellow and made by Efco in Italy I believe. They probably sold all makes of home owner saws at some point and they do sell McCulloch now.

i always thought that partner was either based on or part of mcculloch. The first picture looks very similar to a home owner mac. I'm sure years ago machine mart used to sell both macs and partners, and they were near identicle to look at.

That likely is because both the Partner and the Mac are made by Poulan.

Husky own all those brands, and many more.

One of the many factories that Husky owns is the old European McCulloch factory in Italy - so I suspect that is where that Mac is made?

That factory has made homeowner class saws for several of the Husky (earlier Electrolux) owned brands.
