what thickness did you mill them at?

 

any idea how long the tree has been dead before milling? I may have an elm butt too look at but think it was cut in the 80's so imagine it is rotten but dont know how it lasts, or if it has been lying in mud out out of the ground

 

 

Few years ago I milled a elm butt that I had felled 3 yrs previous and it was just lying on the ground. I got some nice timber out of it. The 80's? That's a long time! But mill it what have you got to lose? May be some spalting in it too
