Just got in this afternoon and listened to the land-line messages.

Had a really good one.

'Hi errrr we've been pollarding a tree for...err....... my friend and had a bit of trouble with it and just wondered if you could help us out cos the height of the top branches has left us a bit short of them - be grateful if you could call us back as soon as possible':lol::lol::lol::lol:

Surely nobody on here??

Nice to know people are quoting bs3889 :)

We get lots of similar stuff.

One guy asked me to strip all the growth off his conifers and nail some fence panels straight to the stems.

Should be ok, shouldn't it ??????!!

Nowt wrong with that (provided obviously there's no TPO's or the like and the trees are coming down anyway). Think I'd use rails rather than panels though. :001_smile:

Done a few fences in the woods that way, small scale felling and restock. Fell the trees, ones round the outside fell at about 6' - 7', top wire, bottom wire, roll of temporary net: job done, cheap temporary deer fence. Sometimes need to put in a few extra stabs between, and need to trim the strainers/turners a couple of times if its the likes of ash or sycamores but does a good job. :001_cool:
