Earlier this year I spotted some on freecycle and rang up but no~one was in so I left a message. A woman rang back and said she was very sorry she'd missed my message and given the wood to someone else. I just said it was up to her who she gave them to and no need to apologise. A few months later I got a phone call saying she'd had another tree cut down and did I want the wood, which was very nice of her and I took the saw and trailer and got a good load, cleaned her yard up and was very happy. The tree had been cut down with an axe by her brother, it was a Birch over a foot thick so I told her if she had any more to ring and save him some work in future. :D Weekend warrior here.
