This questions probably been asked many time before so sorry if this bores anyone ha. Been looking at the timberwolf range and was wondering why go for a chipper when the shredder seems to be more durable and can chuck rackings and fencing etc through it ?? Never see anyone nor have I used a shredder but thought I'd ask the question see what people say?

Hello Mate,

The application is the key thing to qualify.

a S426 shredder is the right machine for rootballs, and contaminated timber such as posts with staples and demolition timber with butt hinges on etc and is effective at processing them however it is not a chipper.

I guess what i mean is the shred shape and size is very different to a chip so may not be as widely accepted, also the speed at which the machine will process cord wood will be slightly slower than a chipper.

The weight of the S426 is way over 750kg so towing licences are a must.

Not a comprehensive explanation but i hope it helps!!
