Hey Folks,

I am thinking about a major career change and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on getting into the Arb. industry. I am 2 years short of the big 40.

I served my time as a amenity horticulturist but am now stuck in front of a pc drawing all day.

Just thought I would get peoples opinions and advice on the best way to move forward. :confused1:

Thanks in advance

Baz

Put it this way if you were to come to me and ask for a days work, personally I Would give you a fair go, I am 40 I work with someone who is 45 we share the climbing. age isn't a issue fitness is, being the fastest isn't all important to me but making good progress is, more than anything in tree work you have to be able to "work" a tree ie (getting round a tree in a efficient way). but above all, having a can do attitude, addressing how you will do something rather than saying it cant be don't.

book yourself onto a climbing course and take it from there,

it becomes a fitness and stamina thing more than an age thing, If you enjoy working outdoors, and are reasonably fit, the stamina will come I've watched a lot of youngsters, fit young guys, but by lunchtime there burned out, while us older ones just keep ploding away, If you feel you want to do it, just do it, dont let anyone ever tell you your too old
