Hi,

I had a bit of bad luck last friday, I managed to break my ankle in 3 places, tor all my ligaments and dislocate it, I had a 3.5 hour op where they put plates in my ankle! Just wondered if anyone has had a similar injury and how long it took to heal? Bordom is setting in now, I can only watch so much channel Dave! lol

Depends your age and how fast you heal as an individual, the bones should heal pretty quick its the tendons that take the time, my mate tore his achilles tendon and was in a special shoe thing for 6 weeks that the hospital adjusted every week, then he had physiotherapy to build it back up . Sorry to hear your injured though mate get well soon.

Had my lower leg broken in two places after a BMW thought he owned the road..( How strange...?) Lot of internal tissue trauma too. ( Winces) It took me 4months to get back to work, climbing n carrying n stuff. The knee and ankle joints are looser, crackly and stiffen up in the cold-after two years. The internal screws n pinning are uncomfortable an stop me doing some tasks sometimes....( Like the washing up ) Im 43 and its not gonna get much better now. So I think yr gonna have similar problems, sorry :(

Stick to exactly what the physio's tell you, and push for as many sessions as you can get.

Don't sit back and let the pathetic moaning yummy mumies who've twisted their ickle pickle ankles, whinge their way ahead of your essential employment needs.

Good luck in your recouperation.

May it be strong and swift :001_smile:
