New 2014 Farmi wood processor tow kit

The Farmi firewood processers were our best selling product last year and I know many people on here have them.

The end of 2013 saw new regulations on road going trailers brought it, which meant that all new trailers had to be IVA tested.

It is worth noting now, that any new equipment that you are towing on the road should have an IVA certificate from VOSA or a type approval.

We have just completed and have supplied the first of the new style IVA tested road trailed processors.

Attached are a few pictures, those of you with the older style road kits will notice a few differences.

They are now braked axles (but only weigh about 900kg). The drawbar design is much more rigid, and they tow exceptionally well.

They also sit slightly higher off the ground giving a bit more ground clearance as I know some people wanted.

Give us a call if you need one pricing up. The kit can be retrofitted to existing processors as can the petrol engine kit.

Yep, its over 750kg, which this spec of processor now is.

There is another version in the pipeline that will just come in under so it doesnt need to be braked and you dont need a trailer licence for.

All trailers, braked or unbraked need the type approval though.

Even with the braked one you might not need a trailer E licence, it will depend on the vehicle you are using to tow it.

If the Vehicle & trailers plated MAM totals less than 3500kg your ok to tow it with a B car type licence.

I have been looking into this.

You might have been misinformed.

Your right that trailers need an IVA.

As far as I can see trailers that are fixed plant do not.
