ASPEN in 201T
As a freelancer who also does my own work, I use a variety of 2 stroke mixes in my fuel, depending on whose fuel I'm sticking in the saws. I've found that MS200T's and 201T's take pretty much any mix. My Huskys are hard to start when I use the normal Stihl red 2 stroke, so I only use my own low-smoke.
A while back, I used to use one companies Aspen fuel frequently without any probs, today I put it in my 201T and it ran like a dog!. Any changes in the content of Aspen or is my say just being a fussy bitch?

Re: ASPEN in 201T
thats what I mean, I never had to retune last time I used it, this time it felt like it was running way too rich and kept cutting out. I wonder if there has been a change in the make up of the fuel?....

Re: ASPEN in 201T
Did you empty her out of petrol before putting in the Aspen??
Aspen also recommend not chopping and changing between petrol and Aspen. This was just general advice as I recall, so not sure about your 201T specifically. |

Re: ASPEN in 201T
Not noticed any changes in aspen, its all I use,but everything runs the same as it ever did, mind you by the time I get me grubby mitts on it from up the road from me it could well be old stock Knowing them.
Hope you get on top of this double quick.

Re: ASPEN in 201T
This is a strange one. If adjustments are needed at all, it is usually to richen the L screw very slightly. i have never had any saw run richer, as yours seems to.
Aspen has not changed in its makeup, so thats not your problem. As Aspen is very pure, and contains no solvents, it will not have harmed the saw, so changing back to petrol will put the saw right if the fuel is the problem. If the problem still exists when using petrol, then I think there must be something else amiss that has coincided with the change to Aspen. Keep us posted with the saws performance.
