Anyone Know where I can get an engine for a MS200t?
Hi everyone,
I've killed my 200t on a job the other weekend. I stupidly placed it on a stump while it was running and it vibrated off and into a stream. Being submerged didn't agree with it and it seized  Looking for a cheap engine, as my local chainsaw place was trying to charge me £250 for a new engine. Only paid £200 for the saw in the first place. Any ideas or advice feel free to post away!

I would have a go at stripping it right down to the bare bones,I,ve submerged outboards and got them going again. Rockapes can do almost anything!

Have you taken the spark plug out and then crank it over in the off position. With a bit of luck it will push out a load of water and might still work. You may find however you've killed the piston though hydraulic locking a bit like if you suck water into a car engine.

may not have hurt the piston if only on tick over i sunk my suzuki jeep other year dragged it out with the mog then all plugs out spun it over plugs in and away it went again. might want to pull plug out as suggested before then blow out barrel with an air line get all water out new plug wouldnt be bad idea nice strong spark then

I've drowned a few chainsaws over the years. Take the pug out, crank the water out, Plenty of wd40 and should go easily.
You might have to put a new set of diagphrams in the carb, but should be OK. |

I haven't taken it apart yet but the engine doesn't turn over, the pull cord doesn't "pull". Me thinks something has seized, i'll see if i have time over the weekend to pull it apart. Whats the worst case, new piston and "engine like" bits? Not to clued up on the inners of a saw!

The saw has a very small reciprocating mass so it’s unlikely to have done itself any terminal damage. I have seen quite a few drowned saws and they have all survived the experience.
Drop the fuel out in case it’s contaminated. Remove the plug and drain any water. Assuming the piston is now free give it a liberal squirt of WD or similar Pull the cord till no more fluid vapour comes out. Replace fuel and plug then see if she lives. Andy
