Tree cutting bus

Just seen this on the local news.

http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/ccm/con...nto-service.en

Ive not seen anything like it before, seems a good cost effective way of dealing with this type of work.

Anyone seen it/similar?

ha seat belt.

I think they where harnessed on, same principle to working off a mewp i geuss.

Certainly looked efficient, they towed a chipper from the bus so the guys on top could just chuck branches behind as they went along.

Does look like a good idea....a bus seems a bit extreme though....surely if it works out they could develop the idea and use up some of that space for and on-board chipper etc etc

There is one operating in Dorset. I think they are a great idea. I think the Dorset one may have a chipper at the front and rear but I don't know how they get the chip out.

Kirklees council have one. Unfortunatley those working from it are not arborists and the devastation and destruction has to be seen to be believed.
It has caused much anger, and the council department involved were even rude enough to not return my calls, as promised after i complained. Which i did on 3 ocasions
