The Tree Musketeers - Mongol Rally 2011 CHARITY EVENT

Hello fellow Arbtalkers!!

 

On the 23rd of July 2011 Me, Dan and Charlie who are tree surgeons from Northamptonshire will embark on an incredible 10,000 mile adventure from London to Mongolia in the aid of two charities, in a banged up 1.0 litre vehicle! BRILLIANT!!

 

Our team are called 'The Tree Musketeers' which consists of me (Harrison), Dan and Charlie... three tree surgeons from Northamptonshire. Pretty cool name we came up with eh!?!?

 

Anyway, we're trying to raise as much money as possible for the 'Rainforest Foundation' and 'The Christina Noble Childrens Foundation'... SO if you feel you are up to donating some of your lovely money online to either one of these charites it would be HUGELY appreciated!! Your money goes 100% to the chartiy of your choice and no percentage is put in back pockets etc!

Thanks man! You should definately think about taking part even if it's next year! What do you have planned?

 

We're planning on taking a Nissan Micra, or Vauxhall Corsa... both stupidly unsuitable cars for this sort of journey, crossing through 5 mountain ranges and 3 deserts!

Nice one! I have also dreamt about this. We went to the planning meetings for the 'Rickshaw Run' a few years ago but ended up doing our own version in India on bikes instead.

Me and a mate are looking at doing it 2012 with luck. Hoping to take a defender but not sure if thats allowed.

Brilliant!! Do it this year, theres still some slots! They're allowed but the vehicle rules say no bigger than 1.2 litre engine... UNLESS you pay £100 for every 0.1 litre you go over 1.2 so for a Defender you'll have to pay a lovely lump of money haha

 

Ahh shame about the sponsorship! I think it's a good idea! We have a few companies up for sponsoring us. What about a small donation to one of the charities? It helps us a lot!
