Are you more annoyed by the fact you're getting paid late, than your colleague getting cash in hand? If he is responsible for driving the team to site, hauling kit and chipper about, his "ticket" is equally or more important than your climbing certs. He is required by law to have a driving licence, spent money getting his licence etc, the company cannot function without a driver!! If you are employed on the books, you're getting paid holiday as well, if he's cash in hand he only gets paid when he works. Is the late payment a regular occurrence, or is it a one-off? I'm sure most companies try to keep their staff happy, but times are tight, and maybe your boss hasnt even paid himself in preference to pay you guys? Of course, if you arent happy with the situation, you can always try to find alternative employment.
