Romsey hit by mini tornado (From This is Hampshire)

 

 

this mini tornado came as quite a surprise to us when we were out with 18 students today on a felling site at Ampfield, Romsey just up the road from the Hillier gardens, luckily nobody was hurt. and i can tell you that some trees came very close with 2 coming down either side of rich, and the one that i was wedging over failed at the plate. i think i just closed my eyes, it was all over in no more than 2 seconds

we were clearing the ride for access for the forwarder, the big top was off a tree further up the ride that had always been clear
