Katie @ Fox Medics is very good i hear.:thumbup1: She is up in Nottinghamshire but will travel to give courses i believe. She is a qualified and practicing Paramedic and having met her at the APF i will be looking to her to update my first aid training in due course. She is a member on here and i think others have already had training from her.

I will look out her number so pm if you need it.

Do you get any kind of hse recognised certificate as part of his course? I don't doubt the training is top notch but I want to tick the right boxes if you know what I mean.

It's kind of irrelevant. If an employee has an accident and the ensuing HSE investigation reveals that better 1st Aid training could have resulted in a less serious outcome, the employer could be liable due to negligence.

 

It's the same syndrome as giving an employee standard A-frame step ladders. The employee then falls off (for whatever reason).

The employer could then be negligent for not supplying staff with a tripod step ladder.

 

Recent history has shown that if a better option was available to the employer, ambulance chasing lawyers will show the employer to be negligent.

 

So, what I'm getting at is that if there is an injury then an investigation and the employer can show that they put staff on the best 1st Aid training course available to them at that time, the employer is demonstrating that they acted diligently and took all steps practicable.
