Asthma affected by London Plane?

Hi, my granddaughter, who is nearly 3, has asthma, her family have just moved to a place with garden.

They've only been here a week so today I turned up wi mover etc to help tidy up and they said since bein here she has been coughing constantly and wondered if it was the paint ( they redecorated before moving in )

But I am wondering if it is the 2, reasonably large, planes that dominate the back garden from council open space behind. I know from experience working on themhow uncomfortable they can make your working day when in leaf and I know there's nothing we can do about them, but am interested to know if anyone could confirm they may be the cause?

Thanks in advance

John
