Big ish fungi.

Saw these on a large Beech monolith. I remember seeing the Beech at least a couple of years ago, and was back in that part of Cornwall a few weeks back, and noticed these FB;s from about 100yds away from the road! Cant get any closer as i dont know who owns them, and they are about 20' up a pretty ripe bit of wood. Think the tree was pretty far gone when the crown started falling apart in the storms, so would assume that the fungus was well set in back then. I am far from an expert, but heres some pics.:001_smile:

Hard to tell Id from these shots.

 

Gano/Fomes really not sure.

 

Looks like a fine chunk of habitat though :001_smile:

Yeah- gano i thought. They looked quite old, unfortunately the pics were awful. Only posted for posterity TBH:001_smile:
