Douglas Fir for collection (free)

Evening all,

I'm cutting down 4 decent sized Douglas Firs next week (I would guess that the stems are 2-3ft across from memory), and wondered if anyone is interested in the wood? Unfortunately, the trees aren't roadside, so will be section felled and cut up into manageable pieces. If interested, pm me. Oh, and a couple of Sycamores too! I'll be able to send pics on Monday if that helps

Cheers...Phil

PS Trees are in Esher, Surrey

2-3 feet is a good milling size.

makes excellent timber, surely a mill would be interested???

Not really Steve. We recently had ?3-4 tons of dead straight Western Red available, cut to 9' lengths, 12"-24" diameter, on flat, dry ground.

A large mill about 12 miles away wouldn't turn out for it as it wasn't a large enough quantity to interest them. On doing a bit of digging as to why this should be it seems they're awash with timber but it's delivered by artic, not fetched in dribs and drabs.

Sadly.
