Robinia fungus

Morning all. Need some help please to ID a bracket fungus at the base of a Robinia stem, I've got an idea from searching on here what it might be but don’t want to lead your thoughts.

It's about 10 inches across and right at the base of the stem. Tree is mature and in good health, we removed some small deadwood last year but no recurrence and it's got a full crown of leaf.

Need to try and identify what it is and its decay mechanism as both client and I are reluctant to jump straight to removing tree unnecessarily, though it is very close to their house.

Thanks in advance, Tom
